“But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).” James 1:22-25 You absolutely must hear and speak, but the manifestation of God’s Word of Truth is short circuited if action isn’t applied to what you hear and say. Grace isn’t just a pretty word, but a person, a gift given for your escape from sinful ways and an empowerment to live in unity with God your Father. It’s his desire that you arise from your fallen nature to the NEW life in Christ that Jesus died and rose for you to live in. You need Grace in order to function properly, to think correctly, to accept Truth and to live by it. You’re nothing and can do absolutely nothing outside of cooperating with God’s Grace. It’s not to demoralize you, but to make proper association with your REAL being. You may have forgotten but you died and must stay crucified. Your NEW and REAL life is hidden only with Christ in God. It’s about connection, relationship and covenant… not religious acts, unprofitable traditions and selfish ambitions. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. When you really circumcise your heart by Grace of all the wicked overgrowth of selfishness, pride and twisted ways to get to the very core Truth of your existence, you see that nothing and no one even matters but God. To know Him, the state of His heart and His love towards you is the very wealth of a life worth living. “Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]— [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:4-6) Before anything even existed, He had His eyes on you with the favor to love you lavishly even despite the falls, shortcomings and failures you were ever to commit. You’re never alone when walking on the path God has ordained specifically for you, regardless of how exclusive things may be. It takes Grace in knowing that no matter what, the Great Shepherd that’s leading you has your safety, future and heart in mind with every instruction He gives. It’s up to you to pursue Him and His ways. Establishing your heart, mind and body in the absolute Truth and possessing the passion to maintain this flow is personal and is only received by Grace. “The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. It takes courage, tenacity and faith to turn from the outside to seek out and embrace the Truth within. When you possess the will to do right it’s Grace that empowers you to fly HIGH above all that once was into the absolute Truth of what IS. Everyone has a personal walk of responsibility to denounce all idols they’ve exalted (anything/one that’s given 1st place in mind/heart aside from God). Once God is gifted back His rightful position, He, His Word and Holy Spirit begin to set your kingdom within back into divine order.
